Manboobz: The Children's Book

Post by Ami Angelwings on Mon Feb 06, 2012 6:28 am

We've already gotten some great drawings of NWO's story of the universe, and today with Nephrite's "Facts. Not Lies" ending for his posts, people starting to mock it and a lot of them sounded a lot like a children's book so I think we should put together a Manboobz children's book, and anybody that wants to contribute illustrations to it would be welcome too. :) (but obv you don't have to if you don't want to) but this could be really fun :)

The Facts. Not Lies. thing turned into something that I really think would be great in a children's book for teaching kids what words mean. :)

I'll collect what happened today:

All day long, I sit at my desk and reject manuscripts and articles, thinking to myself…

“Hacks.

Not buys.”

Holly Pervocracy | February 6, 2012 at 5:56 am

I ate the freebie cookies in the conference room instead of going out to McDonald’s.

Snacks.

Not fries.

Unlike NWO, I much prefer having a socialized safety net and health care system, rather than a society where “female privilege” of crying for food/care covers up women being unable to work.

Tax.

Not cries.

My ER provides excellent cardiac care.

Heart attacks.

Not dies.

As of 2005, the NHL has adopted a shoot out format to decide games where the teams had equal scores after overtime.

Pucks.

Not ties.

LapDragon | February 6, 2012 at 4:55 am

I used to sell neckwear….now I’m a lumberjack.

Axe.

Not ties.

Ami Angelwings | February 6, 2012 at 4:53 am

Every time I look over at the bookshelf and see my Furby gathering dust, it just reminds me how much money I wasted on the thing.

Fads.

Not wise.

For the last time, your job is to bring the chips for gaming night. Robert is bringing the rest.

Snacks.

Not dice.

Ami Angelwings | February 6, 2012 at 4:47 am

No no no! I said I needed a large animal to help me get up this mountain! Those are way too small!

Yaks.

Not mice.

lowquacks | February 6, 2012 at 4:28 am

I used to be stuck in the 1890′s, but now I’m stuck in the 1980′s.

Fax.

Not lice.

CassandraSays | February 6, 2012 at 4:23 am

I used to try to seriously engage MRAs and actually debate their ridiculous ideas, but then I realized that just making fun of them is so much more entertaining.

Mockery.

Not sighs.

LapDragon | February 6, 2012 at 4:21 am

I quit my job making different strengths of soap, and started answering common questions.

FAQs.

Not lyes.

CassandraSays | February 6, 2012 at 4:13 am

When it comes to dessert, I prefer chocolate to fruit.

Cake.

Not pies.

Ami Angelwings | February 6, 2012 at 4:09 am

I prefer to date weightlifters, but I’m not particularly impressed by distance runners.

Pecs.

Not thighs.

LapDragon | February 6, 2012 at 2:23 am

I quit my job at the bakery and took up illegal computer programming.

Hacks.

Not pies.

I kind of want to draw that story of the universe... are there parts of it that aren't done yet?

Wish there was something I could do to help, but my pictoral art skills are kinda nonexistant. I do okay with words, but i can't draw worth beans.

Been rolling another idea for a children's book around in my head, though.
"The Adventures of Mona G. Mouse and Polly G. Mouse"
'Learning about different types of relationships that people have'

Oh, and I gave up my gig as the red bandanna wearing Ninja Turtle, and started handing out religious literature.
