Just so you know:

--If you didn't fight back, you weren't raped.
--If you got wet or (God forbid) orgasmed, you weren't raped.
--If you're male, you definitely weren't raped. I mean, obviously. Men are always up for it.

What if you're female but you have parts that many cis men have? -_-

His target audience confuse sex and rape.

And Roosh said on Hookingupsmart that VDs are hard to get and it's why he doesn't use condoms. And Susan Walsh said that she showed the picture of Roosh to his daughter saying that the guy is a real seducer.

I'm disturbed by the fact that his description of the "rape fantasy" with the Polish girl sounds like... not all that fantasy-y. More like she dissuaded him from actually raping her.

I'm also disturbed by the fact that he just has no fucking idea how intimidation works.

Wow... that's the kind of thing that could get a guy false-rape-accused. (In fact, he says that if the girls wanted to "screw him," they'd have evidence. It's frustrating that he has no self-awareness that if you're doing something that looks just like a crime, and would be a crime if a Bad Person Who Isn't You did it, maybe that's because it's a crime.)



I'm just sickened that this guy is... I don't know. Out there. And there's a lot more guys like him who don't have blogs. It makes me sad and angry and paranoid.

I want to be Batman and be a hero and make the bad people go away, but obviously I can't and it wouldn't even be ethical if I could, so I just write twee little blog posts that only people who are feminists in the first place read anyway.

Along with all the other bs in his article was his argument that you have to be screaming for it to be rape. Plenty of people lose the ability to talk when they're scared. I choked up and couldn't talk during a speech class, as mundane as that was. I wasn't even talking about anything controversial, but just urban sprawl and environmental planning. I opened my mouth, but no words would come out, because I hate speaking in public. If someone is being raped, their physical life is at stake. That could definitely scare you enough to make you silent.

It's also true what Ami said about freezing up when you're scared. Sometimes fear can literally paralyze you. If you're in an extreme situation, the shock of it can cause you to freeze, too. It sometimes takes a while for your brain to register that yes, indeed, something bad is happening. It's like being in a car accident. Time goes in slow motion, and you realize what will happen, but you are unable to do anything to stop it.

It's also dangerous to tell victims to always fight back against rape. Sometimes it is better to not fight back so you don't get beaten to death. I think that's one problem with self defense courses. They can put pressure on victims to fight when it's safer to not fight. Every situation is different. Man, the article just pisses me off.

I can. When I was at my first university I took part in rush. There was one fraternity that I wanted to join, because all the rest were tools. It was a house that didn't judge you on if you got drunk or not or how many people you "scored" with as part of a membership requirement. It was basically known as the "nerd house".

However, my school rules required that every person participating in rush would have to visit 5 houses during rush week. So I did. And at one they were discussing the merits of the whistle on the guys keychain. He said that it was really loud and it was kind of like a rape whistle. The other guy responded "What's that for, so when you are raping a girl you can blow it so they can't hear her scream?". Needless to say I walked out immediately.

So yeah, when I read the article linked to in the first post, all I could think about was that idiot who made that lame comment.

It's just so horrible, and reminding me of some really fucked up things.

He is quite probably a rapist, and isn't even aware of it. If I wasn't so absolutely disgusted I would probably laugh at the absurdity of this.
Instead, I will just sigh and despair at the fact that there are still too many people who don't believe that we actually live in a rape culture :\
