Not a hate movement huh? Trigger warning for violent rhetoric and threats.

Post by bloodquartz on Fri Jul 13, 2012 5:44 am

Happy Friday 13th all,
hope theres no bad luck involved ^_^
I just saw this and - thought i'd stop stewing and post it here. (I hope this is alright? Please remove if not)
So, this is seriously making me ill to my stomach right now
Reddit; mens rights of course
http://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/wg5qs/man_loses_all_rights_to_see_his_children/

A somewhat dubious account of a father not getting custody and being sentanced by a judge to five years in prison -
yeah; this is the completely unbiased account being referenced :/
http://www.fathersandfamilies.org/2012/07/05/indiana-dad-sentenced-to-five-years-for-criticizing-judge-custody-evaluator/
The actual charges aren't given that i've seen thus far - but according to reddit:MR this it is a judge sentancing a man to 5 years for 'calling him out on wrongful proceedures'
Even if it is a case of abuse of power - How does the 'not a hate group' MRA respond?
See for yourself
Some (downvoted) ask for a less biased account and point out reasonably that maybe there is more to the story and they should look for more information
Others; well

I screencapped the worst while feeling somewhat ill
(is it cherry picking when you're just posting about half of what is there!?! Note when I saw it all of this stuff is upvoted more than downvoted.)

And they get mad when SPLC says they need to be watched Shocked
Yeah.. Not violent or worrying at all. Thats not even trying for a veneer of deniability in some places
(i'ma go watch some palete cleansing zombies to cheer myself up. NGL, These people scare me)

This is the worst I've ever seen from r/mr. I think this deserves a post. Thanks for documenting this. I made screenshots as well,in case some of these comments get deleted.

It's funny how I never see rape victims who were belittled in court and had their case thrown out jerking off over killing the judge/jury/police.

This is reading more like a Spearhead comments section. Wow.

I'm going back to that livestreaming kitten video.

I think someone said it best on the blog: the MRM has been producing a lot of violent people, and this, sadly, is just another horrific example.

What even is the game plan here?

"If we kill all the judges, then there'll be no one to send us to jail any more!"

Maybe I'm an optimist, but I don't think this is truly violent thinking. I think this is pillow-fort thinking. Like the guy who wanted to build gender-segregated housing development, like the guys who talk about planning for the upcoming Gender War, like the MGTOWs who think their movement will get so big women will be desperate for dates, I think they're just having fun vastly overestimating the size and power of their "movement." Bragging that they're going to start killing judges means no more to them than kids bragging that their pillow-fort will conquer all of Livingroomlandia.

...That's probably too optimistic of me. People really do attack judges and I'm sure some of those people talked about it on the Internet first. These are grown-ass adults making grown-ass threats of violence.

Why am I suspicious that the way this guy's legal tactics resembled the ones this No Longer Quivering woman's ex-husband used?

I think this has been posted before, but SPLC did a report on this sort of thing not too far back:

... I'm pretty certain what they are advocating is THE definition of terrorism. "Do as I say or something REALLY bad will happen to you."

From wikipedia (not the best source but a quick google result): "Terrorism is the systematic use of terror, especially as a means of coercion." ... "Common definitions of terrorism refer only to those violent acts which are intended to create fear (terror), are perpetrated for a religious, political or, ideological goal; and deliberately target or disregard the safety of non-combatants (civilians). Unless you're a vulcanologue. Or a earthquake specialist. Or a cop.
